Benedick’s False Love in Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing is one of William Shakespeare’s best comedies and love stories. What is not to like about a play that is hilarious, romantic, and has a happy ending? In this play the foremost and most intriguing character is Benedick, a man who is a devout bachelor and who does not believe he will ever find the perfect woman; --because perfect is exactly what he must have. This may seem to be a harsh and pessimistic outlook on life, but the way Shakespeare brings this character to life portrays Benedick as a funny and caring man who really is not that certain about what he wants for the future. Benedick’s counterpart in the play is Beatrice who is an independent woman†¦show more content†¦However, upon hearing of Beatrice’s love for him he is suddenly perplexed and it does not take him long to decide that he will give that affection back in return. How easily persuaded Benedick is. This may come from the way Claudio, Don Pedro, and Leonato ( Benedick’s associates) depict Beatrice as the most wonderful woman in Messina. They talk of Beatrice as if she were the most magnificent woman so that Benedick will do exactly what he does indeed do. When Benedick hears of this he must be thinking of what he has said before about his desire for the perfect woman. In his speech he says that â€Å"the lady is fair . . . / . . . And virtuous. . . / . . . And wise[,]† which is exactly what Benedick demands in the woman that he will choose to be his wife. However, Benedick only believes these things about Beatrice because of what Claudio, Don Pedro, and Leonato have said about her. They only said them to convince Benedick that Beatrice was deserving of him and that she loved him with all her heart. They told Benedick just what he wanted to hear. It is a scheme made of lies, but it works because Benedick is persuaded and begins to agree with what they have said. By doing this he is already influencing himself to foll ow the opposite path from the one that he has adhered to for years. It has become more powerful in controlling the publication matters and grabbing the attention. Social media companies like Google, Apple, Amazon, twitter have changed the thinking pattern of the entire world largely (Korten, 2015). These corporations affect the society as completely, even those who are not directly associated with them. The industries generate pollutions, which affects all the nearby residents. These corporations are responsible for many other externalities (Roach, 2000). However, the corporations and industries sometimes use their power to avoid their responsibility of compensating for the significant external costs. They also use their power to shift these externalize cost to the public sector. In a way, they set their own rules. Although the influence of corporations on world is not new, but the rising size, wealth and thus the power is a matter of concern. These may result in corporate libertarianism along with libertarian economics and market capitalism (Serafeim, 2014). However, the corporations also use their power to address the social and environmental causes. They spend their resources on many issues that are immaterial for them. These corporations have recognized a shifting role in the society. They even frame various social and environmental policies to integrate in their business operations. Corporations use their power to develop a relationship between business and society and satisfy the needs of all its stakeholders. Various internal and external forces need to be anticipated and recognized for the growth and prosperity of the businesses (Harrison John, 2013).. These forces have changed the management task, altered the business operations and modified the stakeholder expectations. The main task of the management is planning, organizing, controlling and leading. The internal and external factors and the business environment affect all these functions. It promotes the compliance of corporate governance, both through encouragement and coercion, which in turn reduces the incidence of illegal behavior (Breslin, 2016). Government establishes explicit legislations to restrict illegal activities and fair compliance of the ethical obligations. The government regulations also monitor anti competitive practices and supervise the position of dominance. It rewards the companies with green awareness and environment friendly practices and imposes tax for wasting energy. Government regulations ensure that the new firms can enter the market without any restriction unless otherwise the law itself imposes a restriction. The Lumineers: Concert review It wasn’t my first time going to a concert, but it was the first time having a family member be the main reason why people attended a concert. And it made me feel proud to and extremely happy for him. The Lumineers is a folk rock band and their lead singer is my Uncle Wess. Uncle Wess is humble, kind, and is not blinded by fame. He worked hard to get to where he is now. He went from working at a Starbucks and practicing the guitar in his roomwith a friend, who is now a member of the band now too. He did this without a father’s support, because his father passed away before he could see his son accomplish his dream. The music and the people walking around in the hot sun created an amazing environment. This song isn’t directly related to him,but he told me the meaning of the song that shares some meaning to him. â€Å"I have been trying to do it right I have been living lonely life, I have been sleeping here instead sleeping in my bed in my bed. So show me family all the blood I will bleed I don’t where I belong I don’t know where I went wrong but I can write a song. I belong with you, you belong with me in my sweet heart.†This song has two meanings that he can relate, because he to he didn’t know what he wanted to do until he started to make music. He didn’t have anything; he d idn’t have the money, all he had were his dreams and his family to guide him and support him. â€Å"So show me family all the blood I will bleed.†His family did support him but they also warned him that it is hard work because he wasn’t known enough. The song represents a broken man that had broken dreams until love came along and helped the man accomplish his dreams â€Å"I belong with you, you belong with me in my sweet heart.† His girlfriend also helped him raise the money and supported him. So when he doubted his family and girlfriend showed love and support for him. Wess always likes to have the audience interact; He would stop singing and the crowd would sing the rest of that verse. This makes me want to accomplish my dreams even if they are hard to get to. I watched him accomplish his dreams and please people. When I listen to his music it cheers me up it causes me to continue to push forward to keep my chin up and not to look back. Anybody can get the The Lumineers concert tickets online on the radio station’s website that plays their song. The true way to enjoy those tickets,to enjoy the concert is to understand and feel what his music represents and get into the music that he writes.

It makes it seem like you can be really free as you have a tendency to be able to behave the way you want and for example mix with other races but you cant go out with anyone except your own race and religion yet eating is different, some things you cant do in other cultures. The film is about two girls who like and want to play football, which plays a very big part in English culture/society plus it shows how people of a different culture can be changed when they are open to the elements of English culture as you get an Asian girl playing and adoring football. The film also makes reference to religion. It focuses on the Indian religion that the main character jess follows, the film shows what types of things jess has to do differently because of her religion for instance wearing a sari to a wedding and cooking tradition foods and praying to a picture of a god on her wall in her house. This maybe easier for jess if she was in her own country with everyone doing the same things but for jess living in England under English society and culture she finds it hard to fit in and there is a conflict. The film also makes reference to the family of an English girl and the family of an Asian girl you can easily spot the similarities and differences with the 2 families. You can also see how the two families fit into different cultures. The Indian family seem to be a closer family than the British family of jewls as you meet a lot of the family in jesses culture but in jewls family you only meet her parents. Also the ways both children are treated in the two families are different yet the same due to the different cultures. The film deals with stereotyping also they are portrayed throughout the film. A stereotypical teenage girl is shown by jesses sister pinkie she wears makeup loves shopping slags off her mates all the stuff present teenage girls are believed to do. But this conflicts with the stereotypical view of an Indian teenage girl who should be; loving, respectful and follow the culture of an Indian girl. So there is a twist to the stereotyping of a girl. Also jewls the English girl breaks away from the stereotype she loves football something not associated with girls also she wants to wear sports cloths like a tom boy her mum finds this very bizarre. Next is the stereotype of a teenage boy jesses friends portrays this image as always playing football and messing about with there mates and girls. But again there is a twist as one of the lads turns out to be gay. A western family is also shown in the film by jewels family they are portrayed by being supportive to jewls but really the mom doesnt like her playing football she gets quite worried and upset about it, the farther clearly loves football like most male people do in a western family. The dad seems more encouraging towards jewls. They eat traditional food like fish and chips. Also jewls drinks in a pub something related to English culture. There is also relationship conflict when jess falls in love with the coach Joe but jewls also fancies him and when jewls finds out that jess has kissed him she falls out with her for betraying her trust. All these things add up to an inner conflict for jess should she play the role of a friend to jewls or the role of a lover to Joe. Also she will be thinking about playing football against her parents permission. So jess is going through a stressful and depressing time in her life. The film does reflect some things about our modern British society for example there is a lot more ethnic people aloud to play sports now where as before they mite have been kicked out like jesses dad it shows that in this day and age in a modern society all races are treated the same and not seen as a minority and are not alienated.  The film is about a teenage girl jessminda who loves David Beckham and football she dreams about playing football professionally but to start with she only plays in the park; until one day a girl from the local girls team jewls, noticed Jesss potential in football and asks her play for the team. She carries on playing behind their backs with her sister covering for her, but they find out she has been lying and jess gets into deep trouble. During the Crimean war, both Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale showed aspects of being angels. The word ‘angel’ suggests a heavenly person who is attentive to the soldiers’ needs, and ‘mercy’ means showing kindness and forgiveness, and the ‘angel of mercy’ basically suggests a compassionated and kind-hearted person who empathizes and helps soldiers in need. Although Nightingale had showed the aspects of being an â€Å"angel of mercy†, the amount of work and commitment Seacole had put in outweighs Nightingale’s; therefore I believe Mary Seacole deserves the title of the real â€Å"angel of mercy†. Florence Nightingale actions mainly focused on the hygiene and cleanliness, and the organization of the hospital since the majority of the death was due to neglect of sanitation. Source U is a lithograph of one of the wards in the Barrack Hospital in Scutari, where Nightingale was in charge of. It showed the hospital was clearly clean and organized with windows opened, clean floor, wide space between organized beds, suggesting that the soldiers’ conditions were getting better. Unlike Nightingale, briefly checking the patient and ordering the nurses, Seacole was more socializing and hands on approach to the individuals, therefore she was closer with the soldiers since she ran the hotel by herself and did everything by herself, on the other hand Nightingale did ver y little nursing and more works on the running and organizing of the hospital, which shows that she was more of an administrator than a nurse. Seacole approach of treating wounded and â€Å"patients suffering from cholera and dysentery† was more effective than Nightingale’s method, showing that Seacole was more skilled and had more knowledge on medicine. Source V points out that, Seacole was certainly kind, caring, empathizing like an ‘angel of mercy’, because she was the figure of a ‘mother’ to the soldiers and â€Å"attentive to their practical needs†. Lessons in King Lear by William Shakespeare Satisfying, hopeful, and redemptive: some critics would say that these adjectives belong nowhere near a description of King Lear. One critic, Thomas Roche, even states that the play’s ending is â€Å"as bleak and unrewarding as man can reach outside the gates of hell† (164). Certainly, Roche’s pessimistic interpretation has merit; after all, Lear has seen nearly everyone he once cared for die before dying himself. Although this aspect of the play is true, agreeing with this negative view requires a person to believe that Lear learns nothing and that he suffers and dies in vain. Indeed, this is exactly what Roche believes when he states that at the play’s end, â€Å"Lear still cannot tell good from evil . . . or true from false† (164). This nihilistic approach, however, not only disregards many of the play’s moments of philosophical insight, but it also completely misinterprets Shakespeare’s intent. That is not to say that Lear is without fault at the end of the play; as Shakespeare surely understood, Lear is still human, and as such, he is subject to human frailty. What is most important about Lear, however, is not that he dies a flawed man but that he dies an improved man. Therefore, although King Lear might first appear â€Å"bleak,† Shakespeare suggests that Lear’s life, and human life in general, is worth all of its misery because it is often through suffering that people gain knowledge about the true nature of their individual selves and about the nature of all humanity (Roche 164). The current superficial problem is shortage of professional employees and the root problem is that HR organization model is not align with strategy. To  solve the superficial problem HBC should push forward restructuring HR policies. Unless this problem is solved, it is meaningless to say the future of the company. Also, to solve root problem, HR organization model should be made a radical reform. When HR supports the company’s strategy, the company can be developed in one direction. On the other hand, HR manager replacement is extreme action and it could make whole organization increase tension. So, this action should be acted as a last resort.

The lives and achievements of these men and women are common public knowledge because theyre taught at school. If theyre not taught from a teacher as part of the curriculum then theyre learned by socializing with friends at school. This creates the misconception amongst young people that; artists who dont fall under this category just arent good. I would like to present one of these artists who arent good. Georgia OKeeffes story isnt one that involves a messed up childhood. She never had to fight off a drug addiction, she was never insane, and her artwork was never made through the inspiration of insanity. She was, however, a gifted child. Relatively speaking, Georgia OKeeffe had a normal childhood. Early in her life, the theories and teachings of her mentors heavily influenced her paintings. Her art therefore, was a unique blend of abstract and representational. She was k nown for the purity, boldness, and clarity of her still-life compositions. After the death of her husband, she moved to New Mexico, there her paintings began to reflect the daily life of the culture there. The very land she lived on became her inspiration. Although Georgia OKeeffe is not very popular with the new generation, she is very much worth remembering. Unlike most other women in the early 20th century, Georgia OKeeffe did not let discrimination ruin her life. She used her art to capture the worlds attention and also used it as a way to shield herself from societys problems. The Holly Tree

The Holly Tree When I built my house almost nine years ago (friggin wow), I planted holly trees on two corners of the structure, one to the left of my study window. Because I love birds, I yearned for the day the tree grew tall and thick enough for me to see its bird visitors from that window. You see, my window is fifteen feet off the ground. I planted a three-foot tree. It would be a while. But I watered the tree, did some serious pruning on it every couple of years to shape it, and made sure it was free of disease. Its a beautiful plant with its shiny, deep green leaves and occasional berries. It grew, but I could only see it when I went outside and stood next to it. Sometime during 2013, I heard a mockingbird outside being particularly loud. On occasion a bird, usually a tiny wren or house finch, or even a rare goldfinch, will perch on my window sill seeking bugs. Since I write late into the night, my window holds the only light in the cove. Being in the country, we dont do streetlights, so dark is DARK out here. The bugs flock to my window, unfortunately for me, but fortunately for the birds that gobble them up the next day. Anyway, the mockingbird song puzzled me. Sliding to my window, I listened hard for the direction. Sure enough, he perched atop the holly tree. I could see him! I could hear him. It had been so long since I tried to see the tree from my window that Id forgotten it was even there . . . except when I went outside and watered it, and pruned it. I hope you can see that the point is obvious. We plant our butts in the chair and we plant words on a page. We keep at it, writing, creating, editing, even submitting. We do it, knowing it might be a long while before its matured. Then one day, and it might be several years from when you started, you look up and there it is. Your work has grown into mature, viable, and gorgeous stories. I hear so many writers talk about waiting for the right moments to write, or getting depressed about rejection, or reading so many ridiculous blog posts that tell them how long their odds are to get published. They write in spurts. They forget writing for the summer, or the winter, or the holidays. They are forgetting to water and prune their holly tree. Even if you cannot imagine success, you keep writing. Just as we love gardening, we love writing, and we tend them religiously, just the same. Because one day, well look up, and there it will be . . . that story we always imagined, sitting there, singing to the world.
