Questions on analysing red bulls marketing strategies

Questions on analysing red bulls marketing strategies Red Bull is a highly successful branding story. The brand came to India in 2003. Although the brand has been keeping a low profile compared to the Cola majors , Red Bull has created a category of energy drinks in the Indian market. According to Economic Times ( 30.05.08) the energy drink market in India is estimated to be around 100 crore. The market now has two main players Red Bull and Power Horse. Energy Drinks are not much popular in India or it can be said that this product is used mostly by sport persons hence a niche. So far the use of these kind of drinks has not percolated to the mass market.. The energy drink broadly comes under the category of functional drinks which is a bigger market estimated to be around Rs 543 crores. Q1. Argue for the most relevant segment criteria to be used in the international market selection process? Red bull has consistently worked on growing international sales. Red bull has a well developed network of local subsidiaries set up in key markets to oversee distribution in any given region. Instead of targeting largest distributors with greatest reach, red bull targets small distributors who often become exclusively red bull distributors. Small independent venues are also the first targets. Red Bull does not use traditional market the local subsidiaries are responsible for local marketing content such as oral marketing, bill boards and radio. Q2.Which changes would you suggest for red bulls future global marketing mix in order to make future challenges? Have an ability to gain new customers and retain current customer loyalty: With Red Bulls target market currently aimed at the Generation Ys (15 30 year olds) there is the question of whether this generation will continue to drink Red Bull as they grow older.  And will the next upcoming generation accept this product as their own. They should segment the market in two difeernt ways, one relating to the youth. Second to the older generation Have Health and Social Implications: Due to growing pressure on organisations in society, Red Bull now promotes their product with current societal and health issues in mind. Childhood obesity and type 2-onset diabetes has become a major issue across western developed nations. By introducing sugar free Red Bull will open up a new opportunity to the health conscious and diabetics. Managing this issue will be a constant process and Red Bull must be seen to be adjusting their product to suit society. By not having only one product: One particular issue Red Bull has to consider is their limited product range. Unlike their major competitors such as Coca Cola and Pepsi, who have various different products in different beverage classes (water, soft drinks, electrolytes) Red Bull does not. Only having one product can be a positive however, for example Red Bull can concentrate 100% effort on their product while not being distracted by other influences, however the downside is that should the market share of that product decrease in the future, Red Bull has no back up product to cover the loss. Q3.How will you categorize red bulls oral global marketing strategy? Red Bull globally is known for buzz marketing. It is a brand which has built its equity through careful below the line marketing. During the initial launch time, Red Bull used to invest heavily in buzz marketing . Some of the famous marketing strategy adopted by Red Bull is given below : Student Brand Managers : The brand tried to reach the trend setters and opinion leaders by appointing ( informal agreement ) student brand managers across campuses. These members were given free Red Bull cans and was encouraged to organize parties for other youngsters. Identify Hot Spots : The brand identified hot spots where the majority of consumers /opinion leaders gather. This could be a bar or a party area. Once these hotspots are identified, the brand campaigns in that spot. Red Bull has the famous slogan Red Bull gives you wiings . The ads are revolving round this theme of the brand giving a high. One fact is that Red Bull need not do much of a product advertisements because the brand was confident that once the customer tries the product, he will start understanding the benefits of this product. Q4.Red bulls is available in large cities in India across supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Evaluate for opportunities for market expansion in India? In India which is a market which is characterized by heavy duty advertisements, high profile celebrity endorsements and mouth watering sales promotions, Red Bull has managed to take the different route. Since the launch the brand has managed to dominate the Indian market with more than 60 % market share . The popularity of Red Bull has prompted many cola majors to launch their energy drinks brand in India. There are news reports of Coca Cola and Pepsi bringing their global brands in this category into the Indian market. Despite the success of Red Bull and Power Horse, there are stumbling blocks in the development of this category . The main issue is regarding the perception of consumers towards this category. Energy drinks are usually viewed this type of drinks with suspicion. Frankly speaking they have an attached perception that this energy drinks are associated with alcohol ( it was a perception). I was surprised to find that these products are targeted towards youth. And these products are more found in pubs and bars which further reinforced the perception that these drinks have parity with products like beer.India, the culture is different. The consumption of these beverages are not considered a part of social living. There are restrictions in consumption and availability of these beverages. Red Bull is marketed heavily through pubs and bars across the western markets. But in India , Red Bull should keep away from associating itself with these kind of beverages. Because such an association will repel many customers especially ladies. Having said that, this category also offers excellent growth potential also provided the brand rationalizes the price. The price of energy drinks vary between Rs70-95 per can which can restrict the frequency of purchase of this product.

Black Plague Essay -- essays research papers

Living in Europe in the middle of the 1300’s would have been heartbreaking and dreadful. Not only were the living conditions very poor but there was an unknown disease that was wiping out a large percentage of European population. One cannot imagine the fear of wondering whether you or someone you loved was going to catch this deadly disease. No explanation would make a person feel safe from catching it or dying with it. The people of Europe just lived their lives as best they could realizing that nothing they do could ever stop this. They did not have the power to stop this it was far too beyond them. This unknown disease is known as the Bubonic Plague.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The plague was passed among many rodents by fleas. Most of the rodents were rats. Fleas living on the rat‘s blood would eject the disease into the rat causing it to die quickly. When there were no rats left around, the flea would search for a new host, such as a human. When an infected flea bit the human the bacteria multiplies quickly causing death within a few Days. One a person obtains this disease they can easily spread it among other humans by bacilli coughed or sneezed in to the air or by human fleas.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The plague had struck other parts of the world before it was first reported in Europe. The disease had been found in China and throughout India around 1332. Nomadic horsemen may have carried the plague westward between China and the Black Sea, where it apparently spread into Russia. Rumors had spread to Europe about the strange and terrible things happening in the East. Europeans began fearing this plague not knowing of its origin or cause. Eventually, the same unusual things started to occur in Europe and the plague was then reported to be in Europe.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  As the bubonic plague spread across Europe it was called many names. Italians were dying by the thousands so they called it the Great Death. The Spanish called it Moroccan Fever, while Moroccans called it Mountain Fever. Most Europeans called it the Italian Fever or Italian Pestilence. It was not until later when the plague was called the Black Death. Black in Latin means dreadful, unlucky, and gloomy. This and because of black spots on the skin of many plague victims led the people to associate the word black with the plague. There a... ... servants or even people they loved. Poor people living in crowded, dirty towns and cities fled from those who came down with the disease. Wives abandoned sick husbands; parents deserted their diseased children. The sick were left to die and the dead was left unburied. Things in Europe were getting worse by the day. Until the day that so many died off that the few left were healthy.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚     Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Before the plague, Europe had been severely overpopulated and almost in a great economic depression. Most of the land that could be farmed on had been abused. This made it difficult to grow food. After the plague ran its course food shortages grew even worse. Many of the survivors were reduced to eating cats and dogs. Some went too more extreme by eating their own children. The plague had seemed to solve the problem of population but it made worse the food and economic situation.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Life for these people went on but was not enjoyed. Changes were to come but it seemed to take forever. Fear, horror, and death was known well by most of these people and the sorrow and despair for these people will never be forgotten.

Bend It Like Beckham Essays

Bend It Like Beckham Essays Bend It Like Beckham Paper Bend It Like Beckham Paper In the film bend it like Beckham the film deals with many different cultural issues for example the film make reference to the English culture. It makes it seem like you can be really free as you have a tendency to be able to behave the way you want and for example mix with other races but you cant go out with anyone except your own race and religion yet eating is different, some things you cant do in other cultures. The film is about two girls who like and want to play football, which plays a very big part in English culture/society plus it shows how people of a different culture can be changed when they are open to the elements of English culture as you get an Asian girl playing and adoring football. The film also makes reference to religion. It focuses on the Indian religion that the main character jess follows, the film shows what types of things jess has to do differently because of her religion for instance wearing a sari to a wedding and cooking tradition foods and praying to a picture of a god on her wall in her house. This maybe easier for jess if she was in her own country with everyone doing the same things but for jess living in England under English society and culture she finds it hard to fit in and there is a conflict. The film also makes reference to the family of an English girl and the family of an Asian girl you can easily spot the similarities and differences with the 2 families. You can also see how the two families fit into different cultures. The Indian family seem to be a closer family than the British family of jewls as you meet a lot of the family in jesses culture but in jewls family you only meet her parents. Also the ways both children are treated in the two families are different yet the same due to the different cultures. The film deals with stereotyping also they are portrayed throughout the film. A stereotypical teenage girl is shown by jesses sister pinkie she wears makeup loves shopping slags off her mates all the stuff present teenage girls are believed to do. But this conflicts with the stereotypical view of an Indian teenage girl who should be; loving, respectful and follow the culture of an Indian girl. So there is a twist to the stereotyping of a girl. Also jewls the English girl breaks away from the stereotype she loves football something not associated with girls also she wants to wear sports cloths like a tom boy her mum finds this very bizarre. Next is the stereotype of a teenage boy jesses friends portrays this image as always playing football and messing about with there mates and girls. But again there is a twist as one of the lads turns out to be gay. A western family is also shown in the film by jewels family they are portrayed by being supportive to jewls but really the mom doesnt like her playing football she gets quite worried and upset about it, the farther clearly loves football like most male people do in a western family. The dad seems more encouraging towards jewls. They eat traditional food like fish and chips. Also jewls drinks in a pub something related to English culture. An Indian family is also stereotyped in the film jesses family is a typical Indian family, they are strict with the children even though they are quite old and they have arranged marriages, they cook and sometimes talk in traditional ways just like our view of a Indian family. Also homosexuality was bought up in the film but I dont think it was stereotyped, as the gay lad likes football and male things not a stereotypical view of a gay man as they are said to be more feminine. The film reflects conflict right the way through, there is family conflict when jess wants to play football but her mum and dad despise her playing football, also when jess has a big game on the same day as her sisters wedding jess wants to go but she also wants to stay at her sisters wedding and support her so there is a slight role conflict happening at hand. There is also relationship conflict when jess falls in love with the coach Joe but jewls also fancies him and when jewls finds out that jess has kissed him she falls out with her for betraying her trust. All these things add up to an inner conflict for jess should she play the role of a friend to jewls or the role of a lover to Joe. Also she will be thinking about playing football against her parents permission. So jess is going through a stressful and depressing time in her life. The film does reflect some things about our modern British society for example there is a lot more ethnic people aloud to play sports now where as before they mite have been kicked out like jesses dad it shows that in this day and age in a modern society all races are treated the same and not seen as a minority and are not alienated.  The film is about a teenage girl jessminda who loves David Beckham and football she dreams about playing football professionally but to start with she only plays in the park; until one day a girl from the local girls team jewls, noticed Jesss potential in football and asks her play for the team. Jess joins and everything is going great till her parents find out she is playing football, because of her culture her mom and dad bring an end to it and stop her playing football. She carries on playing behind their backs with her sister covering for her, but they find out she has been lying and jess gets into deep trouble. In the meantime jess is falling in love with the coach Joe and ends up kissing him causing her close friendship between her and jewels to end. They sort there problems out and on the day of a big game with a American scout coming to watch jess cannot play as it is her sisters wedding but her dad gives in and lets jess go in time for the second half she plays. At the end of the game the scout wants jewls and jess to go and play professionally in America jess really wants to go and her parents eventually allow her to go. They both go to America as friends and play football.

Mozart vs. Beethoven Essays - Beethoven And Mozart, Free Essays

Mozart vs. Beethoven Essays - Beethoven And Mozart, Free Essays Mozart vs. Beethoven Ms. McSherry Humanities 8452-1 12 February 2015 Mozart vs. Beethoven During the eighteenth century, Mozart and Beethoven both were very famous and talented composers in Europe. Their music made influential and significant impact on general music. The two composers are considered the most popular composers in the classical style. Both of them were innately talented for music, and before they started to compose, their lives as musicians started with learning instruments. They both worked in Vienna, Austria, and even Beethoven had a lesson from Mozart whom Beethoven admired a lot. Even though, they both successfully became famous composers and had great impacts on music during the time, they have a lot of differences. Their backgrounds, music styles, and the ways they lived are very different. Mozart was raised by his affluent parents who gave him music lessons and taught him how to play instruments since he was very young. He even composed his first piece at the age of 5. His supportive family gave him a lot of opportunities to become a successful musician. In addition to his innate talent, his family helped him becoming more talented and successful. Generally, his music is known for being very simple, bright, and comfortable to listen. Also, since his music was not too complicated, it was not too hard for instrument players to play. Unfortunately, he died of a disease at the age of 35. Unlike Mozart, Beethoven was not really raised by a peaceful and stable family. His father was alcoholic and sometimes physically disciplined Beethoven for not practicing what he was supposed to practice. Since his past was not too fortunate, he was usually in a gloomy mood. His music, unlike that of Mozart, was usually darker and harder for others to play. Unfortunately, he later became a deaf, but he was still performing and composing great music. I believe that Mozart was little more successful and prolific because Mozart had a stable and supportive background that successfully made him talented, and even Beethoven was inspired by Mozarts music. Mozarts music was very influential and impacted a lot of other composers and musicians. He also had many successful operas which the loyal class loved. Although, I believe that Mozart was more successful, Mozart and Beethoven both are still considered as the greatest composers in the world.

Week 2 Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Week 2 - Assignment Example â€Å"war game† situation in which the enemy (Red Team) attempts to hack and infiltrate its information system either to get some valuable data or destroy its enemys data to render it useless and make the enemy incapable of any coherent response. It is an exercise in assessing a capability to respond to an attack. The Red Team attacks a designated enemys information security systems to test its own capability of carrying out an attack and also to test the ability of the Blue Team to defend against such an attack (Mejia, 2008, para. 2). While merely simulated, there is great value in an exercise like this because it allows both teams and the top management people to think of entire network security and see it in a wholistic manner rather than be bogged down in parochial interests. The Red Team thinks like an outsider and looks for any vulnerabilities they can exploit in the existing information security system infrastructure of their designated target. The Blue Team defending is also benefited because it learns of security holes in the system and becomes alert and vigilant. In a larger sense, the Red Team is more valuable because it can give top management people warning to not be complacent or take things for granted and so any flaws discovered in this exercise must be fixed immediately. This is similar to the white hat versus black hat exercises in which black hats are the hackers and white hats are the defenders (Bokotey et al., 2003, p. 432). Mejia, R. (2008, April 27). â€Å"Red team, blue team: How to run an effective simulation.† Network World. Retrieved August 14, 2014 from

No topic Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

No topic - Essay Example Some women had been married by Americans during the Second World War. The Chinese fled from China from Communism and settled in various towns such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. Their immigration was in line with the 1965 act, which lessened the restrictions on Asian immigration. Most of them enrolled for education and worked their way up the social ladder. The Asian Exclusion Act had prevented the immigration of Asians laborers. The social mobility is also associated with their economic development within the ethnic group. Geographically, the Chinese immigrants are known to be settled in peculiar China towns in the American society. New immigrants often join them and continue living in ethnic groups. Chinese tradition is upheld and often consulted for dispute settlement and provision of moral guidelines. A portion of the Chinese immigrant is illiterate.    The Japanese immigrants are spread within the American society. They engaged in business beyond their ethn ic group and obtained  higher level of education. They immigrants have values which go along with the American values such as respect, hard work and politeness. Education is given importance and most of the Japanese immigrants are literate. A large number of the immigrants have professional education or technical skills in specific field. Creating and maintaining relationships is significant hence they use such relationships to form business groups. It can be argued that they have integrated in the American society. California enacted a bill that restricted Japanese immigrants. Those who were contracted as laborers were able to become proprietors and they seemed to be a threat, thus foreigners were forbid from owning land. Asians and other immigrants took the place of the minority. Immigrants were required to poses a passport. Obtaining citizenship was a challenge and many remained as non-citizens. Restrictions on contracted laborers were enacted to secure employment for the Ameri can citizens. They could not vote or have any political representation. Many lived in fear of deportation. Those who needed services from the justice system feared being denied the services because of their race and stereotypes. Notions such as Americans against them (Asians) were common. There were restrictions that that required the immigrants to obtain a certain level of literacy. Asian immigrants are one of the fastest groups of immigrants with majority obtaining education and securing high income. They have maintained their identity and cultural values. The Immigrants remained few in number until the end of the Second World War. 2 Immigration patterns have been influences by the American stance after the Second World War. American foreign policy on immigration has been encouraging supremacy and global leadership and disassociating with isolation. The war brides act and the Lece Celler Act allowed the women engaged and married by Americans to immigrate. The act allowed a specifi c number of people in a year. Other immigrants who were refugees of war were also allowed. They gained citizenship and could seek for employment and enroll for education. After the Second World War, many immigrants were absorbed in the labor industry. Many of the women who had been called to join in the war returned to their homes while others remained. Many immigrants worked their way up the social ladder by enrolling for education and seeking
